Overview
ABEC Hub's subsidised Not-for-Profit / Charity rate is designed to ensure equitable access to world-class facilities for grassroots and community groups. This policy outlines eligibility, verification, and booking processes for community organisations.
1. Community Pricing
Not-for-Profit / Charity
Select Not-for-Profit / Charity in the booking form to see the current subsidised daily rate, GST and total before payment.
Available to registered non-profit organisations, charities, community groups, educational institutions, and incorporated associations with a genuine community benefit purpose. This subsidised rate is funded by our commercial bookings.
2. Eligibility Criteria
To qualify for the Not-for-Profit / Charity rate, you must:
- Be a registered organisation with an ABN or Incorporated Association number
- Demonstrate that your booking serves a genuine community benefit purpose
- Provide evidence of not-for-profit status (financial statements, charity registration, etc.)
- Not be a commercial business or for-profit enterprise
3. Verification Process
During the booking process, you will be asked to provide:
- ABN or Incorporated Association number (required)
- Statement of community impact or organisation mission
- For Aboriginal-led organisations: Confirmation of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander leadership (for priority review)
- Proof of not-for-profit status (charity registration, financial statements, or board minute)
We will verify your details with the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission (ACNC), the Australian Taxation Office (ATO), or Supply Nation. This verification is typically completed within 2–3 business days.
4. Community Impact Statement
As part of your booking, you will be asked to provide a brief statement describing:
- The purpose of your event and expected audience
- How your organisation serves the community
- The anticipated community benefits or outcomes
- Any partnerships with other community organisations
This helps us understand and support your mission whilst enabling us to communicate the community impact of our cross-subsidisation model.
5. Priority Access for Aboriginal-Led Organisations
Bookings from Aboriginal-led organisations are flagged for priority review and approval. This reflects our commitment to supporting Indigenous communities and ensuring swift processing for urgent or time-sensitive events.
6. Cancellation and Refund Terms
Community organisations are subject to the same cancellation terms as commercial bookings. However, if you need to reschedule due to unforeseen community circumstances (natural disaster, emergency, etc.), please contact us directly. We will work with you to find a solution.
7. Code of Conduct
Community organisations agree to:
- Use the venue solely for the stated community benefit purpose
- Maintain a respectful, inclusive environment for all attendees
- Comply with health, safety, and legal requirements
- Avoid commercial promotion of products or services (unless aligned with your charitable purpose)
- Respect Indigenous cultural protocols if applicable
8. Testimonials and Case Studies
We may request permission to feature your organisation's event as a case study in our marketing materials or annual impact report. This highlights the real community benefit our pricing model enables. Participation is entirely voluntary, and you may opt out at any time.
9. Reporting and Evaluation
We may request brief post-event feedback about:
- Event attendance and outcomes
- Community impact or reach
- Facility quality and support
- Suggestions for improvement
This information helps us assess our community impact and continuously improve our services.
10. Dispute Resolution
If there is any dispute regarding eligibility or pricing, we will work with you in good faith to resolve it. We are committed to supporting genuine community organisations and will give you the benefit of the doubt when assessing eligibility.
11. Reconciliation Commitment
ABEC Hub operates under a Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) which commits us to supporting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples through equitable access to resources, economic opportunity, and community development. Our subsidised community rate and priority support for Aboriginal-led organisations reflect this commitment.
